Blue Wheel Drive

Blue Wheel Drive is a high energy, hard driving bluegrass band that is based out of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Asheville, North Carolina. The band is keeping the future of bluegrass music alive with hot instrumental playing and tight harmony singing inspired by the traditional music stylings of Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, Jimmy Martin, Charlie Moore, Don Reno, and the Stanley Brothers.

Formed around the vibrant Asheville music scene, Blue Wheel Drive's lineup consists of the heartfelt lead and tenor singer Rob Sine playing guitar, U.S. Army Band veteran Rob Parks singing lead/tenor and playing upright bass, CMH Records recording artist Rudi Ekstein playing mandolin and singing baritone, versatile sideman John Duncan on fiddle, and features the Spruce Pine, North Carolina bluegrass music prodigy Billy Constable on banjo.

2013 has brought new excitement for Blue Wheel Drive.  After various Blue Wheel Drive shows, ten-time Grammy Award winning fiddle legend Bobby Hicks was drawn to the band’s sound and energy.  The world renowned fiddle player started sitting in, and Bobby Hicks & Blue Wheel Drive began booking and collaborating on several bluegrass concerts in Western North Carolina and the Appalachian Mountain area.  Bobby Hicks & Blue Wheel Drive have been expanding their act together, and Blue Wheel Drive was thrilled to join the former Bluegrass Boy as the headlining act at the Great Southern Music Festival in Thomasville, Georgia in May 2013.

Blue Wheel Drive is currently booking for concerts, music festivals and private events in and around the greater Southeast.
